Can You Use Your Console Device For Business Applications?

The use of consoles is inclined to game playing and this substantiates the reason why most of the features that have been introduced in modern consoles are only aimed at increasing user-experience in entertainment from these devices. This leaves the question; are consoles really meant for business application? The answer to this question is no! And this is because consoles are specifically designed for recreational purposes and therefore most of the functionality features are meant to enhance entertainment experience gained from these devices.

Nonetheless, there are some features that have been introduced in the devices, which play a role in the business community today. One of the essential features is the internet-enabled console functional attribute. Modern consoles have WiFi connectivity, meaning that users can access the internet from these devices.

In order to enable users of console devices access the internet, the developers of these gadgets have designed browsers that are specially modeled out to suit their application. The PS3 console has a browser designed by Sony, and this allows users surf the internet right from the device. Similarly, Nintendo Wii console has a special browser known as Internet channel, which is derived from the Opera browser.

However, not all console devices have browsers to enable people access the internet and therefore, it means that some console gadgets have not been transformed to fully connect with the internet. The accessibility of internet therefore, gives an opportunity for users to make some business applications using the devices.

By accessing the internet, business people can browse website for products and services. They can send mail to customers. They can join discussion forums and help in marketing their products. However, there is limitation in which console devices can be used for advanced business applications. The browsers may not be able to support many business applications such as online banking.

With the increased internet threats, a high level of secure internet access is required. Malicious codes such as virus, worms, Trojan horses, spyware and adware as well as Rootkit pose great security vulnerability on computers. This is one aspect which may not have been fully addressed by console developers and therefore, they still remain limited to the more advanced business applications.

And with the games programs are being targeted as means of spreading viruses and other malware on the internet, it means that for the developers to integrate console devices into fully functional business application tools, they need to get back to the drawing board and establish ways in which they can accommodate such features without compromising the security aspects of the users.

However, until then, consoles users will only have to use their devices for simple business applications such as email communication, IMS and shopping online for products and services. Besides the simple business applications of these portable devices, internet has greatly promoted the way in which users access and store their games.

Users are able to access the internet, download music, games, movies, TV shows and other programs and files, which can directly be stored in their console devices. There are different storage media used by console owners to store their contents such as CDs, DVDs, Bluray Disc and cards. Users of consoles can install r4 card cartridges in their devices and store their contents.
